Shaikh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al-‘Abbaad Was Asked About The Killing Of The Kharijite Bin Laden

Question: What is the balanced position concerning the killing of Usamah Bin Laden as there are those who are delighted with his killing, and others who said that he was a “Mujaahid” and they judged him to have achieved martyrdom?

Shaikh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al-‘Abbaad (hafidhahullaah) said:

How is he a Mujaahid?! Yes, he was a Mujaahid [a person who strove] in the path of the devil. Usamah Bin Laden brought a great deal of evil to the Muslims, and there is no doubt that his departure will bring them ease; the people will be more at ease due to his departure.

Usama Bin Ladin Was A Calamity Upon the Muslim Nation – Praising Him Is A Deficiency In Ones Understanding Of Islam

Shaikh Muqbil bin Hadi al-Wadi’i (Rahimullah), the Salafi Scholar of Yemen stated:

“I absolve and exonerate myself (in front of Allah) from Bin Ladin, for he is a misfortune and a calamity upon the ummah (Muslim nation), and his actions are evil.” [Published in the Kuwaiti magazine, ar-Ra’i, dated 19 December 1998]

The Shaykh  Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan was asked: Is Bin Laden and those who follow his views and promote his beliefs considered to be from the (deviant sect known as the) Khawaarij?

Shaikh Al-Fawzaan: “There is a (well known) principle, and this is that everyone who rebels against those in authority is considered to be from the Khawaarij, whether this is Bin Laden or anyone else. Anyone who rebels against the Muslim leaders is deemed to be from the Khawaarij.” [1427/2/5 in the lesson  The Explanation of the Creed’]

Shaikh Salih Aal ash-Shaikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Saudi Arabia, stated in a lecture on the subject of deviations in the understanding of Islam:

“….until in these times, perhaps you have heard some teachers praising Usama Bin Ladin, and this is a deficiency in understanding Islam.”
