Is teaching at the Haram an automatic tazkiyyah for one’s Salafiyyah?

The former Mufti of Jizan, al-Allaamah Ahmad ibn Yahya al-Najmi (d.1429H) – rahimahullaah – was asked about attending the fiqh lessons of Muhammad Mukhtaar al-Shanqiti, who was teaching in al-Masjid al-Nabawi at that time.

He responded, “It was narrated to us that this man has some Sufism with him. So because of this, I say that it is better, once something other than the manhaj of the Salaf has been noticed from someone, then it is incumbent to stay away from them.”

Do not be deceived due to where a person studied or where they teach.

Ash Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee said when refuting Yasir Qadhi “he entered the masters program in Aqeedah and sadly, this is what is used by him and others to misguide alot of people, saying that he is a student of the scholars or that he graduated from the Islamic university of Madeenah, but if this is the methodology that he is upon, the likes of this pledge that he and others have signed, by Allah it will not benefit him if he graduated from inside of the Ka’bah! because this is a false methodology, and being a student of such and such Shaykh or studying at such and such a place does not justify falsehood….”
