# Seek refuge with Allah from the evil of what He has created

by saying thrice,

“A‘udhu bi kalimat Allaah al-taammaat min sharri ma khalaq

“I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.”

Say in the morning and in the evening (thrice):

بِسـمِ اللهِ الذي لا يَضُـرُّ مَعَ اسمِـهِ شَيءٌ في الأرْضِ وَلا في السّمـاءِ وَهـوَ السّمـيعُ العَلـيم

“Bismillahi alladhi la yadurru ma’ ismihi shai’un fil-ardi wa-laa fil-samaa’i wa huwa al-Samee’u al-‘Aleem”

“In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on the earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”

# In  a state of Anger

“A’oodhu bilLaahi min ash-Shaytaan ir-Rajeem”

“I seek refuge with Allaah from Shaytaan the Accursed”

# Recite 100 times in a day

[There is none worthy of worship except Allah alone. He has no partners. To Him belongs the Dominion, to Him belongs all praise and He is capable over all things]

a hundred times a day.

# Ayat Al-Kursiy

Allaahu laaa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom;
laa ta’khuzuhoo sinatun wa laa nawm;
lahoo maa fis-samaawaati wa maa fil-’ard;
man zal-lazee yashfa’u ‘indahooo illaa bi’iznih;
wa laa yuheetoona bishay’im-min ‘ilmihee illaa bimaa shaaa’;
wasi’a Kursiyyuhus-samaawaati wal arda,

Allah! Laa ilaaha illaa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever-Living (Al-Hayy), the One Who sustains and protects all that exists (Al-Qayyoom).Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they wilt never encompass anything of His knowledge except that which He wills His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them And He is the Most High (Al-‘Aliyy), the Most Great (Al-‘Atheem). [Soorah Al-Baqarah (2) Aayah 255]

It protects from the shayatin (sing. shaytan).[famous hadeeth reporting the encounter of Abu Hurayrah (radhi Allaahu anhu) with the one of the shayatin]

Last Three Soorahs

{ Qul huwa Allahu Ahad…}        [Al-Ikhlas]
{ Qul auoodhu bi Rabbi alFalaq…..}  [Al-Falaq]
{ Qul auoodhu bi Rabbi alNnas…..}   [An-Nas]

Whoever recites these three times in the morning and in the evening, they will suffice him (as a protection) against everything. [The hadith was reported by Abu Dawood 4/322, and At-Tirmidhi 5/567. See Al-Albanee’s Saheeh At-Tirmidhi 3/182]

# When entering Masjid

When the Messenger of Allaah -sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam-would enter the Masjid he would say:

أَعوذُ باللهِ العَظيـم وَبِوَجْهِـهِ الكَرِيـم وَسُلْطـانِه القَديـم مِنَ الشّيْـطانِ الرَّجـيم

A’outhu bil-lahil ‘atheem, wa bi-wajhihil-kareem, wa bi-sultanihil-qadeem min ‘ash-shayanir-rajeem

 I seek refuge with Allaah The Supreme and with His Noble Face, and His eternal authority from the accursed shaytaan

Then he said: if he says this supplication then the shaytaan says: this person has been protected from me for the rest of the day. [Hadeeth taken from ‘Saheeh al-Kalima at-Tayyib’, By Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah , Checked by Muhammad Nasir-rudeen al-Albani]

#  When leaving home

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Whoever says – upon going out of his home:

بِسْمِ اللهِ ، تَوَكَّلْـتُ عَلى اللهِ وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُـوَّةَ إِلاّ بِالله

Bismillaah, tawakkaltu `alaa ‘Allaah, laa hawla wa laa quwwata ‘illaa bil-laahi ta`aala,

“I put my trust in Allah, there is neither might nor strength, except by Allah, the Most High”

it is said to him:

“You have been sufficed, protected, and guided, and the shaytan would move aside from him, then say to another shaytan: What access do you have to a man that has been guided, sufficed, and protected?”  [Al-Albãni included this hadeeth in The Authentic of Good Sayings as #44]

# When having sex with your spouse

U’eedhukuma bi kalimaat Allaah At-taammati min kulli shaytaanin wa haammah wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah

# Seeking refuge in Allaah from the evil of one’s soul and from the evil of Shaytan and his shirk

“O Allaah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and visible, the Lord of everything and it’s Possessor, I bear witness that nothing is worthy of worship but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Shaytan and his shirk. (I seeek refuge in You) from bringing evil upon my soul and from harming any Muslim.”
