Sharh as-Sunnah : Lesson 73 : Point 123
Shaykh Fawzan | Dawud Burbank [Audio|English]
Imaam Barbahaaree rahimahullaah said:
Means of earning whose correctness is clear to you are permissible, except for that whose corruptness become apparent. If it is corrupt, then he takes from that which is corrupt, the amount that is sufficient to sustain himself and (he) should not say, “I shall abandon all earnings and just take what people will give to me.” The Companions didn’t do this, nor the scholars up to this time of ours. ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab (radiallaahu anhu) said, “Earnings of which a part is from a lowly source are better than being in need of the people” [1].
