Knowledge is Sought from its Scholars – By Dr. Murtaza bin Bakhsh [Video|Urdu-Eng Subtitles]

Translation Verified By: Abu Bilal Nahim

Dr. Murtaza bIn Bakhsh:

Who is upon the truth and who is upon falsehood? How will we know this and how will we be able to distinguish this? Is it possible without knowledge? Then, when will we seek knowledge? Is it not important that time be allocated? It is important; and knowledge is sought from the scholars. It is notjust sought from books. It is sought from scholars and students of knowledge. Those scholars who teach the Qur’aan and the Sunnah with the understanding of the Salaf of this Ummah – this confinement is obligatory, that there is the Quraan, authentic Hadeeth and they speak, teach the religion and give rulings according to the understanding of the Sahaabah (companions of Prophet (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam).

If you find such a scholar or such a student of knowledge somewhere, then do not leave him; and connect with the scholars, the senior scholars all praise be to Allaah – such scholars are present.

Now (seeking) knowledge has become easy, translations have come forth – in English, in Urdu, in every language. Shaykh bin Baaz rahimahullaah, Shaykh ibn Uthaymeen, (the) Muhaddith, Muhammad Naasiruddeen aI-Albaani rahimahullaah, there are (about) 10,000 cassettes of his – now we have CDs, but before the CDs there were (about) 10,000 cassettes. And if you just take out any cassette from the middle, you will notice that they contained the lessons of Tawheed and the Manhaj of the Salaf, in each of his cassettes. Far removed is Allah from all imperfections!

Shaykh Saalih al-Fowzaan is alive [hafidhahullaah], Shaykh Saalih al-Luhaydaan is alive, Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabiree, Shaykh Rabee’ al-Madkhalee, Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadee aI-Madkhalee – they are those ‘Ulemaa, that if you attach yourself to them, by Allaah, life changes. There is light [of guidance] in their sayings; there is light in their guidance. If (you) want to learn the methodology of the Salaf, then this is the path, this is the methodology. There are other Salafee scholars as well but I remember these names, their names are known and famous. Do not say that I do not have a way to reach them. By Allaah, by sitting at home, nowadays, all praise be to Allaah, there are online duroos happening as well. Aren’t they happening? Use this technology correctly.

People abuse it by listening to songs and what not. You use it correctly and see how you become a part of (seeking) beneficial knowledge and how it benefits you even after your death.

Dr Murtaza bin Bakhsh hafizahullaah:

Often we here these words in society. ‘Mind your business! They advise: ‘Mind your business!’ I am minding my own business. With Allah’s permission, I am advising you. What type of bad deed am I doing? People say, and they are ignorant (unfortunately), wearing a tie, suited and booted, looking very smart. You advise them: Brother, pray the salaah, (they say): ‘Mind your business!’

I will mind my own business, that isn’t a problem! If death overtakes you in this state, then what are you going to do?! No. this is the truth! I have done my job, informed you, told you once. I have made my request: ‘The prayer has been established; the Masjid is straight ahead of us, close by.’ They look at you, staring in an angry manner: “Mind your busmess.”

OK. I‘ll mind my business! I’ve done my job. What are you going to do? Whilst going about your business you have an accident. the Angel of Death will not give you a little more time. By Allah! He won’t give you two minutes. so you can establish the prayer, after which he can take my soul. No! So then, what are you going to do?

Make Du’aa that Allah guides your Children – Dr Murtaza bin Bakhsh

Dr Murtaza bin Bakhsh حفظه الله:

Whoever Allah -the Most High- chooses to guide, that individual is successful in this world and the hereafter. The majority (of the people) say, with regards to their children’s future:

Make my child a doctor.’ ’O Allah, make my child and engineer.’ ’0 Allah, make my child wealthy. ‘Make (my child) a businessman.’ The best du’aa you can make for your children, if you are going to make one is: ’O Allah, guide my children!’ This is the best of supplications!

In our society today, and in (this) nation of Muslims, there is no shortage of doctors, there is no shortage of engineers, nor is there a shortage of businessmen. If there is a shortage, then it is of rightly guided Muslims, individuals of Taqwa who withhold from that which is forbidden. How will this deficiency be fulfilled? I am not saying that you shouldn’t become doctors. Or that you shouldn’t guide your children to becoming doctors or to being engineers, this is not what I am saying. I am saying make them good Muslims (upon) Taqwa who withhold from that which is forbidden first, then a doctor, then an engineer.

You will not be able to rid this society, this nation of corruption. Our situation will not change until we change ourselves. The five daily prayers have not changed us! The month of Ramadaan has not changed us! So when will we change?!!

Does Using an Inhaler Break your Fast

Using an Inhaler During for the Fasting Person

Question:

What is the ruling on a fasting person using an inhaler for breathing problems, and does it break the fast?

Answer  by Shaykh Uthaymeen:

This spray is vaporized and does not reach the stomach, so in that case, we say that there is no objection to using it when you are fasting, and it will not cause you to break your fast, because as we have said, none of its particles enter the stomach. Since it is something that is defused and vaporized, and it disappears, then none of it reaches the stomach, therefore it is permissible for you to use it when you are fasting and the fast is not invalidated by it.

My Umrah Selfie – Dr Murtaza bin Baksh [ Video|Urdu- English Subtitles]

Translated and transcribed by: Aboo Bilal Nahim ibn Abd al Majid حفظه الله
Video Courtesy: Brother Bilal Nahim
Audio Sourcehttp://urdu-islamic-audio.com/2015/05/28/my-umrah-selfie/

Below is the Transcription of the above Video

The question of the brother is that in these days a new Fitnah (trial) has begun.

THE TAKING OF SELFIE PHOTOSAllah’s aid is sought.

The strange thing is that you see this in the Haram, people standing in front of the Ka’bah taking selfies, behind them is the Ka’bah and they are taking photographs.  My brother, taking photographs is Haraam (forbidden).

This Haraam (forbidden act), outside of this House (of Allah) is also Haraam.

Its prohibition inside (of this Masjid) is increased even more!

In front of the House of Allah its prohibition is increased even more!

For what reason have these people come here? To show the world that I have come here to perform Umrah and here is my evidence for it! Then were has their intention gone!

If you came for the pleasure of Allah, then why is there a need to announce to the world where you are?  Then they post it upon Facebook:

“Look, I also went to Makkah.  Here is the proof, look the Ka’bah is behind me.”

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون

To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.

So fear Allah and save yourself from this Fitnah… and a mobile phone is a mobile phone.  Some people have turned it in to, I don’t know what.

For some people within it, they have songs, music, movies a camera.

HARAAM UPON HARAAM!

How many Muharamaat (forbidden things) are you carrying in your pocket!!

 So, FEAR ALLAH!!

Keep it within the limits of being a mobile phone.  Use it in a good manner for good (permissible) things.  But, since when has that taking of photographs been regard as making good use of it?

Using it for something that is Haraam!

Allah has given you the ability, by Allah millions wish for the opportunity to visit the House of Allah.  In the world, millions of individuals, I swear by Allah. But, do they have the ability?  No they don’t have the ability. They don’t get the opportunity to come to the House of Allah.

They die with this desire!

And you come here having the pleasure of performing Umrah and you are taking SELFIES!!

Behind you walk’s a sister or someone’s mother and they too become a part of this selfie.  Do you have no shame!

Nor do you have any shame with regards to the House of Allah and no shame with regards to the sister or daughter and neither any shame of yourself.  So for this reason this is a fitnah and it is not permissible, may Allah reward you with barakah!

(Dr Murtaza (حفظه الله تعالى) then explains the prohibition to our Moroccan brother (حفظه الله تعالى) who was present (in the Urdu lecture) to take opportunity to sit in a gathering where the remembrance of Allah was taking place).

What Did Abu Dharr Eat During His 30 Days In Makkah – Dr Murtaza bin Baksh [Video – Urdu/English]

Video Courtesy : Bilal Nahim

It was reported in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said to Abu Dharr, who had stayed near the Ka’bah and its coverings for forty days and nights with no food or drink other than (Zamzam), “How long have you been here?” Abu Dharr said, “I have been here for thirty days and nights.” The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, “Who has been feeding you?” He said, “I have had nothing but Zamzam water, and I have gotten so fat that I have folds of fat on my stomach. I do not feel any of the tiredness or weakness of hunger and I have not become thin.” The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, “Verily, it is blessed, it is food that nourishes.” [Narrated by Imam Muslim, 2473]

Start Preparing for Hajj – Always good to Start Early

The following is the Post by our elder brother Aboo Bilal Nahim on KSA_Dawah Google groups:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Whilst in Makkah yesterday I saw some strange practices, nothing unusual as I had seen most of them before.  But what shocked me was how blatant people were In defending what they were doing.

Whilst walking past Maqaaam-e-Ibrahim people were clinging to the gold enclosure that houses the stone.  Kissing it, hugging it a rubbing themselves against it with this false notion of gaining barakah (blessings from it).

As perusual the brothers placed around this point were reminding the people that Maqaam-e-Ibrahim was to be taken as a place of worship and that all fo these practices that the people we doing was not legislated in the religion of al-Islaam.

This has (unfortunately) become the unsual practice of many of the Muslims today where ever they maybe from.

It amazes me how we spend so much money (and for many, this is truly a once in a life-time journey) in our efforts to come and make either Hajj or Umrah.  Yet, we arrive in these lands with little if no knowledge of what is required from us in order to complete this obligation fully.

We expect Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) to accept whatever we put forth and reward us abundantly for it.

Imagine you are cooking a meal and for cooking this meal perfectly you will be given a new car.  What would you do?  Research, practice, understand, change, refine until the meal was perfect to (almost) guarantee you the first prize.

Why can’t we transfer that thinking (research, practice, understand, change, refine, these are my words) in to this and other forms of worship.

The ultimate prize is Paradise and second prize is the Hellfire (even if it will only be for e certain amount of time for the people of Tawheed who Allaah chooses to punish due to sins they have comitted).

Back to the original story.

Just as I walked past Maqaam-e-Ibrahim.  I noticed that the majority of people doing this (on this occasion) were from the Indo/Pak subcontinent.

I started to translate what the brother was warning against.  The fact that this practice was not legislated and that we should concerntrate on the Sunnah and so on…

An old man then turned around to me and said:

“You can say what you want.  We know it is a bid’ah but we are still going to continue doing it!”

Maybe he didn’t understand what he was saying and we ask Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) that He (سبحانه وتعالى) guides us and him to the correct understanding of al-Islaam.

I then asked him if he realised and understood what he was saying to which he didn’t reply.  I reminded him of the fact that he may have spent several hundred thousand Pakistani Rupees to get here and that he is (possibly) destroying the reward for this action due to intentionally going against the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (صلى اللهُ عليه وآله وسَلَّم).

My point is, to many this maybe very shocking and even disturbing.  Yet, if we were to reflect a little upon our own lives, maybe we are doing the same thing on a daily basis that this uncle did yesterday?

Just take a little time to think about that last statement of mine and ponder over our own situation.  How many things are we doing that we know are against the Book of Allah and the Sunnah?  Even though the people may see us a being ignorant.  Allah knows the truth about what is in out hearts.  So nothing is hidden from Him.

With regards to this uncle, I advised him a little more and continued on my journey around the Ka’bah thanking Allah for his bounties.

Hajj is only a short time away, don’t be ignorant of its rulings before making this life changing journey.  Don’t spend all that (their) money sending your parents on this journey without equipping that with the correct tools they need putting them and the mercy of the tour guide.

There is great reward in helping them prepare financially, physically, spritually with the correct knowledge to make this journey a success, don’t waste their money and time, both are very precious.

Here are a series of lectures in Urdu by Dr. Murtaza Baksh (حفظه الله تعالى) who is based in Jeddah.
