The Worship of ‘Reliance(Tawakkul) in Allaah’ – A Very Important Matter of The Heart – Shaykh Abdullah al-Hadaad [Audio|Ar-En]

A Very Important Matter of The Heart - The Worship of Reliance in Allaah - Shaykh ' Abdullah al-Hadaad

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

The Noble Shaykh ‘Abdullah Ibn Naajee al-Hadaad (May Allah Preserve Him) from the mashaayikh of DhimaarYemen delivered a LIVE tele-lecture with Muwahhideen Publications on Wednesday 6th March 2013 on the topic of reliance on AllahShaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Hadaad is a student of Ash-Shaykh Al-Allaamah Al-Muhaddith, the Imaam of YemenShaykh Abu ‘Abdur Rahmaan Muqbil Ibn Hadee al-Waadi’ee (rahimahullah) and is currently the Imaam of Masjid Siddeeq in DhimaarYemen.

The Noble Shaykh ‘Abdullah Ibn Naajee al-Hadaad (hafidhahullaah) introduced the lecture by supplicating to Allaah for His aid and assistance and subsequently sending prayers upon our Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). He then began by explaining the linguistic definition of tawakkul which is to show that one is unable to handle a certain affair and that one is relying upon other than himself to take care of that affair. He stated that there are two types of agents (helpers) that a person can rely upon:

  1. Those agents who can be relied upon only in certain matters and are imperfect
  2. Those agents who can be relied upon in every single affair and this can only be Allah

The Shaykh proceeded to the meaning of tawakkul in the sharee’ah, and it is true reliance of the heart upon Allah. So the person who relies upon Allaah is one who knows that Allah will provide for him and handle all of his affairs, may it be from his desires or his fears in this world or the aakhirah. It is noteworthy that tawakkul is one of the means by which a servant accomplishes what he desires. So a person should not lie around and not accomplish anything because doing so has no relation to relying upon Allah. Rather, this is a fake form of tawakkul called ittikaal that is indeed laziness and may lead to one not being keen upon performing his due deeds and not improving his situation at his own hands from where he is capable.

Shaykh Hadaad (hafidhahullah) then mentioned the difference between relying upon Allah (tawakkul) and leaving one’s affair to Allah(tafweedh). Although these two are related, tafweedh is more general than tawakkul since tafweedh is akin to submitting to Allah. Having tafweedh indicates that a person has freed himself from claiming he has any power or ability of his own without Allah. So one has to submit himself to Allah and leave his affair in His Hands before he obtains tawakkul, which is more specific as previously mentioned.

The lecture continued on an advantageous path, as the Shaykh differentiated the meaning of tawakkul and having trust in Allah. The essence of tawakkul is trusting in Allah just as the black of one’s eye is the most beautiful and most elegant part of it. He also spoke about the places where tawakkul is to be performed and surely, it is advised to have tawakkul in all the affairs of one’s life; however, the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and his Companions were instructed by Allah to have tawakkul in the following specific affairs:

  • ·When seeking the aid of Allah for victory
  • ·When turning away from your enemy
  • ·If mankind turns away from you
  • ·When the Qur’aan is being recited
  • ·If you are trying to mend an affair of enmity between two people
  • ·When the decree of Allah descends
  • ·If your enemy places down their traps/schemes
  • ·When you realize that all affairs return to Allah and that Allah is the One who decrees all affairs
  • ·When you realize that Allah is truly One God
  • ·If Allah guides you (you should receive the guidance with gratitude to Allah)
  • ·If you fear the harms of the enemies of Allah and the shaytaan
  • ·If you want Allah to be your agent in all of your affairs
  • ·If you wish for the highest level of Paradise
  • ·If you wish for Allah to love you (then rely on Him)
  • ·If you want to completely submit to Allah

Our Shaykh (hafidhahullaah) then recited many ayaat from the Qur’aan where Allah mentioned the importance of tawakkul as well as many authentic ahadeeth from the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). He concluded by sending prayers upon the Prophet(sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), his family and his companions.

Indeed, there was a great benefit in this gathering as Shaykh ‘Abdullah al-Hadaad clearly defined each aspect of tawakkul, bringing forth the necessary evidences from the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah.

Explanation of “The Purification of The Aqeedah” of Imaam Sana’nee – Shaykh Ali ar-Ramli [Audio|Ar-En]

Shaykh 'Ali ar-Ramly - Explanation of - The Purification of The Aqeedah of Imaam Sana'nee

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

The Noble Shaykh, Aba al-Hassan ‘Ali ibn Mukhtar ar-Ramly (May Allaah Preserve Him) from amongst the scholars of Jordan, and a very strong student of Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wad’ee (rahimahullaah) started a weekly web class with Muwahhideen Publications on the explanation of the book “The Purification of The Aqeedah” by Imaam Muhammad ibn Ismaeel al-Sana’nee (rahimahullaah)

Class # 01 – 03.09.2012 70:09 mins. (Arabic & English)

Part 01: Listen /Download Mp3 Here  (Time 70:09)

Commencing the class, Shaykh ‘Ali ar-Ramli (hafidhahullaah) spoke about the reason for Allaah sending us Prophets and Messengers and touched on the origin of shirk amongst mankind.

He then went on to give a brief biography of Imaam As-Sana’anee (rahimahullaah) and the reason why the author took it upon himself to write this book and clarify the misguidance of the people in his time.

Other points of benefit included mention of the condition of the disbelievers of Quraysh, an explanation of the title of the book, some discussion about the state of the people in the time of Imaam as-Sana’anee and much more benefit concerning the correct belief of the muslim.

The Shaykh completed the introduction of the book in this first sitting and all are encouraged to attend these vital lessons that are packed with immense benefit about the most important matter in the life of a Muslim: the establishment of Tawheed and safeguarding oneself from shirk.

Class # 02 – 03.09.2012 61:56 mins. (Arabic & English)

Part 02: Listen /Download Mp3 Here  (Time 61:56)

Continuing with our study of the book ‘The Purification of the ‘Aqeedah’, Shaykh ar-Ramli (hafidhahullaah)explained in great detail three of the five fundamentals as articulated by the author.

Imaam as-Sana’anee (rahimahullaah) laid down five fundamentals which he then broke down into chapters.

The three fundamentals discussed are as follows:

Firstly: It has been known from the necessity of belief in the religion of Allaah that all of the Quraan is truth and not falsehood, all of it is guidance and not misguidance and all of it is certainty that has no doubt whatsoever. This is a foundation that the belief of anyone cannot be perfected and affirmed without.

Secondly: All of the prophets and messengers of Allaah from the first to the last of them were sent to call all of the creation to worship Allaah alone without associating any partners with Him.

Thirdly:Tawheed is divided into two categories. The first, Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah (Tawheed al-Asmaa was-Sifaat included in this category) and the second, Tawheed al-Uloohiyyaah.

Class # 03 – 17.09.2012 62:59 mins. (Arabic & English)

Part 03: Listen /Download Mp3 Here  (Time 62:59)

In the third class, our Shaykh ‘Ali ar-Ramli (hafidhahullaah) began by doing a recap of the principles we studied thus far. Then, he went on to explain the remaining two principles of the five.

These include:

The Fourth Principle: All of the polytheists affirm and confirm that Allaah is the Lord (The Creator, The Sustainer and the Disposer of all Affairs) soAllaah sent the Messengers and Prophets to call the people to the Monotheism of Worship (Tawheed al-‘Uloohiyyah).

The Fifth Principle: ‘Ibaadah (worship) is the utmost of humiliation and humbling oneself to Allaah and worship is not meant but to humiliate oneself to Allaah. And this humiliation is only for Him and can never be for other than Him.

The Shaykh explained both principles in great detail, quoting the many evidences concerning both matters. He then went on to enlighten us with some benefits regarding the statement of Tawheed:‘Laa ilaaha il Allaah’.

This concluded the five principles as mentioned by the author (Imaam as-Sana’anee) and is the foundation upon which the rest of the book is built upon.

Class # 04 – 08.10.2012 89:17 mins. (Arabic & English)

Part 04: Listen /Download Mp3 Here (Time 89:17)

In this session, Shaykh ‘Ali ar-Ramli (hafidhahullaah) went in to great detail concerning the Monotheism of Worship (Tawheed al-‘Ibaadah) and what it necessitates.

He explained that it is the belief of Ahlus Sunnah that kufr (disbelief) is divided into different categories which he mentioned and gave examples, as opposed to the deviant sect, the Murji’ah who say kufr is only of one kind.

Shaykh Ramli went on to discuss and explain the speech of the author concerning the reality that even if a person affirms the Ruboobiyyah(Lordship) of Allaah and worships Him but does not single Him out in this  worship then this is of no benefit to him and he is a mushrik (polytheist),kaafir (disbeliever).

A noteworthy point, as mentioned by the Shaykh, is that it is from the condition of sidq (truthfulness) in eemaan that an individual does not depend on other than Allaah and it is a must that we single Him out alone in our dependence just as we single Him out in other acts of ‘ibaadahAllaahcommanded His slaves to say ‘You alone we worship’ so no one truthfully believes in this statement until he singles out Allaah in all acts of worship, otherwise he is a liar and is forbidden from saying this statement because it means to specify all acts of worship for Allaah alone.

This class was extremely beneficial in highlighting the crucial matter of actualizing Tawheed al-‘Ibaadah with the Shaykh bringing forth the necessary evidences from the Qur’aan and Sunnah with much clarity.

Class # 05 – 15.10.2012 52:54 mins. (Arabic & English)

Part 05: Listen /Download Mp3 Here (Time 52:54)

In this sitting, the Shaykh (hafidhahullaah) started a new chapter in which a number of matters were discussed. From them are:

  • The affirmation of the polytheists with regard to Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah is of no benefit to them due to them associating partners with Allaah in worship. Their actions negate their belief in His Lordship and they are counted from the mushrikoon.
  • It is only logical that the one who admits to the oneness of Allaah’s Lordship also dedicate all acts of worship to Him alone because what is the purpose of worshipping other than Allaah if everything is under His control and command (He is the Sole Creator, Sustainer etc). The one who does not dedicate all acts of worship to Allaah alone does not truly believe in His Lordship although he would attest to this.
  • Riyaa (showing off) is not only referred to as an act of shirk but it is also deemed worship since this refers to the slave doing an action seeking status/position in the hearts of the people while simultaneously seeking Allaah in that act of worship.
  • Whoever believes that a created being can benefit or harm, bring one closer to Allaah, intercede with Allaah on his behalf or fulfill his needs does not uphold Tawheed ar-Ruboobiyyah because he has ascribed attributes that belong to Allaah alone to other than Him.
  • The matter of an-nadr (vowing) which is to dedicate something to the object of worship seeking reward and fulfillment of a need as a result of this dedication. And this is only to be performed for Allaah alone as an-nadr is an act of ‘ibaadah so to perform it for other than Him constitutes shirkin worship.
  • This is still present today with the qubooriyoon (grave-worshippers) who use different names for their actions. Regardless of the names, the meaning is the same.

Class # 06 – 22.10.2012 57:01 mins. (Arabic & English)

Part 06: Listen /Download Mp3 Here (Time 57:01)

Continuing with our study of the book ‘The Purification of the ‘Aqeedah’ by Imaam as-Sana’anee (rahimahullaah)Shaykh ‘Ali ar-Ramli (hafiidhahullaah) went on to explain some matters concerning the grave worshippers and that which constitutes shirk.

 From the points discussed:

  • Whoever believes that a rock, tree, grave, the living or dead can bring about harm or benefit or grant that which is only in the Hands of Allaah or can bring you closer to Allaah has committed shirk.
  • Those who worship the graves treat the graves of those they claim to be awliyaa the same way the mushrikeen (idol worshippers) treated their idols. They call upon them as the Muslimeen call upon Allaah.
  • By worshipping the graves and calling upon the deceased they have gone back to the exact same concept that was found in the worship of Wad, Suwa, Yaguth, Ya’uq and Nasr by the people of Nuh.
  • Some have the belief that men from amongst the living who are fussaaq (apparent, public sinners) have powers and can be called upon while these men are themselves immersed and completely drowning in sin, transgression, lusts and every kind of despicable thing Allaah has made haraam (forbidden).
  • Along with all of this, this person will be found to make a claim of ‘ilm ul ghayb (knowledge of the unseen)nand this is in direct contradiction to theQur’aan thus rendering him a kaafir (disbeliever). However Iblees will bring to him people who will believe in his lies, accompany him and glorify and magnify him until they raise him to the level of Rabb-ul-‘Aalameen (The Lord of all creation).
  • Those who believe in the “awliyaa” and the open sinners have become mushrikeen (polytheists), just as the idol worshippers. There is similarity in their description and actions. According to the author, the ruling regarding them (the grave worshippers and idol worshippers) is exactly the same because they have directed worship which should be to Allaah alone to other than Him.

The Islaamic Position Regarding Protests and Demonstrations – Shaykh ‘AbdulQaadir al-Junaid [Audio|Ar-En]

The Islaamic Position Regarding Protests and Demonstrations by Shaykh 'AbdulQaadir al-Junaid
The Islaamic Position Regarding Protests and Demonstrations by Shaykh ‘AbdulQaadir al-Junaid

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

The Noble Shaykh ‘AbdulQaadir Ibn Muhammad al-Junaid (May Allaah Preserve Him), from the scholars of Ad-Dammam, K.S.A., delivered a LIVE tele-lecture with Muwahhideen Publications on Thursday 21stFebruary 2013. The Shaykh is recognized and recommended by the major scholars of our time, the likes of Shaykh ‘Ubayd al-JaabireeShaykh Muhammad Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee, and many others (May Allaah preserve them)

Listen / Download Mp3 Here (Time 93:33)

Shaykh ‘Abdul Qaadir al-Junaid (hafidhahullaah) commenced this comprehensively beneficial lecture by asking Allaah to benefit us with this sitting and to make us from those who love the truth, follow what Allaahand His Messenger says and that He makes us from those who put His Speech and that of His Messenger(sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) before everything else.

Our Shaykh affirmed the fact that many Muslims are engaged in protests and demonstrations throughout the world and some of them desire by this the dunya while some seek to topple the ruler due to injustice that he might have committed, and will not stop until he is removed. However, this does not change their situation and ends up resulting in millions of deaths, loss of wealth and property. This might last for years if the ruler is not removed and as a result, the ruler may execute an armed counter-reaction, which would lead to even more deaths and losses.

The Shaykh then proceeded to say that if we use our intellects, we would see that this blessed Sharee’ahexplained even the intricate matters of using the toilet. So would it make sense that a great affair such as governance, which affects all Muslims, that Allaah would leave us without guidance, leaving each man to himself to act as he sees fit or to follow his desires?

He then said that if we were to return to the books of the Sunnah we would see that this matter of governorship and how the Muslim should deal with the rulers has been thoroughly addressed. He further mentioned that this issue has also been explained in the books of ‘Aqeedah. However, the fault lies with us, as many do not inquire about what is requested of them in light of the Sharee’ah before engaging in such matters and secondly, they do not study the ahkaam related to these affairs.

Our Shaykh then went on to extract some benefits and rulings regarding the manhaj in dealing with the rulers from three ahadeeth of the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) where he advised us on what to do if we were to encounter unjust rulers. The remedies include having patience with them until we meet him(sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)  at the hawdh, carrying out their rights while seeking our rights from Allaah and listening and obeying even if they were to beat our backs and take our wealth.

Next, Shaykh al-Junaid (hafidhahullaah) commented on some reasons why protests are prohibited in Islaam. From them are:

  • 1.      They contradict the Sharee’ah
  • 2.      They resemble the way of the kuffaar
  • 3.      They encourage injustice and sin

This sitting was indeed filled with immense benefit and serves as a beautiful clarification concerning this pertinent and crucial issue as our Shaykh ‘Abdul Qaadir clearly explains each point bringing the necessary evidences from the Book and the Sunnah. A must listen for the one seeking clarity!

We ask Allaah to guide us to the truth and make it easy for us to follow and that He saves us all from falling into sin and transgression.

The Impermissible Backbiting and Slander – Shaykh ‘Ali al-Qaleesee [Audio|Ar-En]

The Impermissible Backbiting and Slander - Shaykh 'Ali al-Qaleesee

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

Muwahhideen Publications organized a LIVE tele-lecture on Saturday 2nd February 2013 with the Noble Shaykh, ‘Ali al-Qaleesee(May Allaah Preserve Him). The Shaykh who is a graduate of the Islaamic University in Madeenah, is also a student of Ash-Shaykh Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul Wahhab al-Wasaabee (May Allaah preserve him). He presently teaches at Masjid-us-Sunnah in Hodaidah,Yemen

Listen /  Download Mp3 Here (Time 40:07)

Shaykh ‘Ali al-Qaleesee (hafidhahullaah) initiated this sitting by mentioning the ayah in Soorah Hujuraat where Allaah says, “O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.” [Al-Hujuraat 49:12]

The Shaykh explained that there contains in this ayah many great admonishments from Allaah such that He calls upon the people of eemaan and He specifically addressed them and this is an affair that clarifies the magnitude and beauty of Islaam. He continued by saying that Islaam is viable and beneficial in every place and time and that these admonishments are foundational principles in mending an individual as well as society as a whole.

Next, he narrated the well-known hadeeth on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (radhiyAllaahu ‘anhu) where the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) clearly explains what constitutes backbiting and slander. So this is a warning to mankind to beware of this vile characteristic of backbiting and it is for this reason that Imaam Qurtubi (rahimahullaah) mentioned that there is no difference between the people of knowledge that gheebah is from the major sins and whoever backbites someone, then it is upon him to repent to Allaah.

So the Shaykh clarified that backbiting is to mention your brother with that which displeases him and this includes affairs regarding his physical description, religiousity, his wealth or children; it is impermissible to mention your brother with that which he hates to hear regarding these aforementioned matters.

Thus, backbiting can be committed by utterances, writing, and insinuation/reference. Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) mentions that the people fall into gheebah in various forms. Some attempt to disguise gheebah with a veil of religiousity and would say to himself that his habit is to only mention people with khayr and he dislikes backbiting and lying however he is only informing others of the affair of an individual. While there are some who hide their gheebah behind anger and their claim that they are actually forbidding evil and so they ornament their speech when doing so while their intentions are opposite to what they show the people.

Next, our Shaykh (hafidhahullaah) explained that according to the people of knowledge, there are however, certain situations in which speaking about an individual is permissible for a legislated reason. He enumerated for us six such instances. They are:

  1. When complaining (to the ruler or governor) of some transgression done to you by another individual
  2. When seeking the aid of others such that an evil can be removed and a sinner can be returned to piety and leave off evil
  3. When seeking a fatwa (religious verdict)
  4. When warning the Muslims of impending evil
  5. When an individual is publicly transgressing
  6. When pinpointing a specific individual who is known by a certain name due to a flaw such as ‘the one with a limp’

Shaykh al-Qaleesee proceeded to implore us by saying, let the Muslim who is pleased with Allaah as his Lord, Islaam as his deen andMuhammad (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as his Prophet and Messenger steer clear of gheebah and creating enmity between people. He further explained that it is however, incumbent to expose the affair of ahlul ahwaaa and those who seek to create fitnah and to warn against their evil.

The Shaykh then gave us some insight into the reasons that would cause an individual to fall into gheebah and sowing the seeds of contention amongst the people.

From them are:

  1. Weak eemaan
  2. Being raised in an ill fashion.
  3. Bad companionship
  4. Kibr (pride and arrogance)
  5. Hasad (jealousy) and enmity to others in the heart
  6. Attempting to pass the time and have fun by backbiting others
  7. Attempting to please the people and fit in
  8. Ignorance regarding the affairs of the deen and regarding the Muslims

Our Shaykh ‘Ali al-Qaleesee then delineated some ways in which we can seek to overcome this dangerous ailment.

From them are:

  1. To raise a child in the proper fashion
  2. To keep good company
  3. To occupy free time
  4. To put the pleasure of Allaah over the pleasure of others
  5. To be contented with whatever Allaah has written and destined for this individual (whom one might be jealous of)
  6. To strengthen the eemaan
  7. To busy yourself with your own flaws and personal problems

Our Shaykh then concluded this highly beneficial and comprehensive lecture by making du’aa that Allaah makes us beneficial to Islaamand the Muslims and that He makes us seeds of goodness that will sprout and openers to the doors of good. He further supplicated, “I askAllaah to protect the Muslims in America from trials and evils and we call upon Allaah both publicly and in secret to keep you firm uponIslaam while alive and in death.” And to that we say, Aameen.

A question posed to Ash-Shaykh al-Allaamah Muhammad ibn ‘AbdulWahhab al-Wasaabee (hafidhahullaah)concerning the distinguishing characteristics and traits of Ahl Tamyee’ (people who are laxadasical about thedeen).

[Q]: What are the distinguishing characteristics and traits of Ahl Tamyee’ (people who are laxadasical about the deen)?

[A]:

  • From their characteristics is that they do not hold on tenaciously to the Qur’aan and Sunnah of the Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
  • They are not people who have adherence and care for the Book ofAllaah and Sunnah of the Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), and they do not have a particular focus of the Book of Allaah and Sunnah.
  • They do not return to the major scholars of Islaam.
  • You will find that if one of them is advised, he will not accept the advice, and he will not return to the truth rather he will become stubborn and will remain upon the issues he was advised against.
  • He will follow his desires and whims, and you will also see that they are not people that are particularily successful in their statements and actions rather the lack of success is seen from them and the lack of guidance.
  • You will see the effects of sins upon them and the effects of transgression are seen upon them.
  • They are also close to other people of tamy’ee (negligent in the deen), and the people of hizbiyyah (partiisianship and sectarianism), and
  • they are close sometimes to the disbelievers. They become close to them and they veer away from the scholars, becasue being close to the scholars is a fear for them. They fear that the scholars will tie them down to the evidences, and the scholars will have them adhere to the rulings of the Book of Allaah and the sunnah, so they are not keen in being in touch with the scholars, but rather they are happy to be alone in their own places and their own domains so that no one can link them and tie them down to the evidences from the Book of Allaah and the sunnah and they are actually pleased with this, with being loners.

These are from their signs and their signs are many, and we ask Allaah for success

We Have Made You A Balanced Nation by Shaykh Nu'maan al-Watr

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

Muwahhideen Publications facilitated a LIVE tele-lecture with Shaykh Nu’maan al-Watr (hafidhahullaah), who is from the mashaayikh of Ba’daanYemen in the district of Ib, and head of Dar-ul-Hadeeth there. The Shaykhaddressed us on the topic of Islaam being balanced, between negligence and extremism.

This lecture event was translated LIVE into English by our brother Hisham AbouZeid.

Listen / Download Mp3 Here (Time 49:34)

Shaykh Nu’maan al-Watr (hafidhahullaah) commenced this lecture by stating that Islaam is the middle path; it is the Deen void of shirk and it is the Deen that Allaah is pleased with for His slaves. Surely, Allaah has relieved us of shackles and chains and made this Deen easy and comprehensible in both creed and application. The creed is compatible with inherent human nature that has not been corrupted and fulfils the needs of the soul and body. It is the Deen that can solve all the problems of mankind; and whoever holds tenaciously to it will find happiness, guidance and safety and will not be humiliated. The believer will become good in himself and would help others attain goodness.

Our Shaykh further stated that whoever contemplates, would realise that Islaam is between two falsehoods – negligence and extremism. This nation is one that is just and its creed is founded upon worshipping Allaah alone without any partners.

Shaykh Nu’maan then went on to exemplify and explain some of the areas in which Islaam takes the middle course, between negligence and extremism.

From them are:

  • Belief in the Prophets – Between the Jews who reject the prophets and the Christians who deify them.
  • Ibaadah – Between the indolence of the Christians and the extreme hardship in the worship of the Jews.
  • Purity – Between the Christians who hold almost nothing as impure and the extremity of the Jews.
  • Food – Between the Christians who almost do not discern between halaal and haram and the Jews  who, due to retribution for their sins, have many things that were made haram for them.
  • Obeying the ruler – We obey him in what is in accordance to the obedience of Allaah. However if we see from him disobedience, we do not usurp his rights nor do we revolt against him. Rather, we do not obey him in this disobedience and advise him.
  • Obedience to Parents – Between those who obey their parents even if it means disobeying Allaahand those who neglect their parents to the point of disobedience. Children – We do not relax the rules for them to do as they please nor are we so strict that it falls outside the boundaries of Islaam.
  • Women – The woman is not forbidden to learn and teach, however she is bounded by the Shari’ah, which insures her protection and that of the society.
  • Financial transactions – We neither extract assets from the hands of the people nor do we distribute the wealth of the people amongst the lazy and those who do not work. We are allowed to increase our wealth according to the legislation but engaging in interest has been made impermissible.

The Shaykh (hafidhahullaah) ended by saying it is upon us to learn the magnificence of our religion and become acquainted with the tremendous benefits of it in this life and the next. He then made du’aa for us all and asked Allaah to make us from those who are guided and guide others and that this sitting be a proof for us and not against us and that this gathering be a reason for happiness in this life and the next.

The Perils of Intermingling with The People of Innovation – Shaykh Khalid adh-Dhufayree [Audio|Ar-En]

The Perils of Intermingling with The People of Innovation by Shaykh Khalid adh-Dhufayree

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

On Tuesday 15th January, 2013, Muwahhideen Publications hosted a LIVE tele-link lecture with Shaykh Khalid adh-Dhufayree (May Allaah Preserve Him), who is from the mashaayikh of Kuwait.

This lecture event was translated LIVE into English.

Listen/Download Mp3 Here  (Time 56:34)

The Shaykh commenced his lecture by stating, the fact that the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) frequently warned against bid’ah (innovation in the religion) in all of his sermons is indicative of the extreme danger of innovation, which is from the reasons of annihilation and destruction. The Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was keen on ensuring the guidance of his ummah and from the care he had for his nation is that he never left a single door that leads to goodness except that he encouraged going to it and never left a door of evil except that he warned us form going towards it. From the greatest of those evils that have become widespread in this ummah and have caused great confusion to many people are bid’ah (innovation in the religion) and ahwaa (desires)

The Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) gave us foundational principles on how to deal with the people of innovation, desires, differing and sects with their various waves. Whether they are from the ancient sects that endured like the JahmiyyahMu’tazilahAsh`aris and other than them; or likewise, the modern day groups like the IkhwaanisTableeghisTakfirees and Qutbis; all of them are innovated sects.

Shaykh adh-Dhufayree (hafidhahullaah) then went on to mention some ahadeeth where the Prophet(sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) warned against bid’ah; and he has shown us the way to escape and survive innovations, which is to beware of them, warn against them, avoid them and their people and to refrain from mingling with the people of innovation.

So boycotting ahlul bid’ah is from the greatest foundations in the religion that will continue to preserve the deen of a Muslim and protect him from the evil of the people of innovation and misguidance. This principle has been clarified in the Book of Allaah, and the Salaf were keen on establishing it.

Our Shaykh then proceeded to narrate a wealth of athaar (narrations) from the Salaf concerning intermingling with ahlul bid’ah wal ahwaa. He said that the people of bid’ah actually scheme and plot against Ahlus Sunnah, so they enter into our ranks with the intention of misguiding us and begin by talking about the Sunnah then gradually introduce their innovation. So it behoves a man of the Sunnah, a Salafi to be intelligent and insightful in recognizing these approaches by the people of innovation and desires.

He continued by stating that there is consensus of the Salaf, in all ages of the ummah, about boycotting and warning against ahlul bid’ahwal ahwaa due to the eminent danger in mingling with them. Furthermore, Shaykh adh-Dhufayree (hafidhahullaah) clarified that our Salaf did not only warn against innovations but the innovators as well because surely innovations do not spread on their own; they need marketers. So if the innovators are warned against, boycotted and refuted, the innovations that they carry will surely weaken and die. However, in our times a people have emerged with a misguided and false principle, which maintains that you can warn against the innovation but not the innovator which is in total opposition to the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the consensus of the Salaf.

Our Shaykh went on to quote the statements Ahlul ‘Ilm concerning sitting with and keeping the company of the people of innovation and earnestly advised us to flee from them. He continued that one should fear misguidance for himself, so it is obligatory to be as distant from the people of innovation as possible and we must beware of them, warn against them and not praise them. And from the greatest ways of remaining firm is to turn to Allaah, asking Him for steadfastness upon the deen and to leave off intermingling with ahlul bid’ah.

In clarifying this pertinent issue of the perils of intermingling with the people of innovation, Shaykh Khalid adh-Dhufayree (hafidhahullaah) went into much detail by abundantly quoting our Salaf regarding this topic. A must listen for the seeker of Truth.

An Explanation of The Ahadeeth of The Hawdh of The Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) – Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Hadaad [Audio|Ar-En]

An Explanation of The Ahadeeth of The Hawdh of The Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) by Shaykh 'Abdullaah al-Hadaad

Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Hadaad  is a student of Ash-Shaykh Al-Allaamah Al-Muhaddith, The Imaam of Yemen, Shaykh Abu ‘Abdur Rahmaan Muqbil Ibn Hadee al-Waadi’ee (rahimahullaah) and is currently the Imaam of Masjid Siddeeq in Dhimaar, Yemen.

Listen / Download Mp3 Here (Time 74:31)

Introducing the topic, Shaykh ‘Abdullaah (hafidhahullaah) explained that linguistically, a hawdh is a place where water gathers and it is the place from which the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) will allow his nation to drink on Yawmul Qiyaamah (The Day of Resurrection). There is ijmaa’ (consensus) amongst ahlul haqq (the people of the truth) regarding the hawdh and according to Al-Haafidh As-Suyooti (rahimahullaah), the mention of the hawdh has come from over fifty companions, including the four rightly guided caliphs, the prolific narrators of ahadeeth from the companions and other than them. He went on to say that despite the wealth of ahadeeth affirming the hawdh, there are those who deny its existence and thus it is befitting that they be prevented from drinking from it.

Next, the Shaykh provided us with an abundance of narrations from various books of hadeeth about thehawdh, its description and the events that will take place at it in addition to the statements of the scholars of the past concerning it.

From its description:

  • It is massive
  • It is a noble place to drink from
  • The one who drinks from it will never be thirsty again
  • It is supplied directly from the river Kawthar in Jannah
  • It is whiter than milk, sweeter than honey, cooler than snow and more pleasant to smell than misk
  • Its chalices are more numerous than the stars in the sky
  • Its length and width is equal
  • Every time you drink from it, it will only increase what is in it
  • In it are growing trunks of gold, musk and pearls which will bear fruit of all types of jewels

Shaykh ‘Abdullaah al-Hadaad (hafidhahullaah) further discussed the positions of Ahlul ‘Ilm (The People of Knowledge) on the order in which events will occur regarding the hawdh, the siraat and the mizaan. He then proceeded to narrate numerous ahadeeth about those who will be prevented from drinking from the hawdh of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) on the day of the greatest thirst.

Those who will be prevented from drinking from the hawdh include:

  • Those who lie upon Allaah and His Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)
  • Those who innovate in the deen from the rawaafidhkhawaarij and the rest of ahlul bid’ah wal ahwaa (the people of innovation and desires)
  • Those who are extreme in dhulm (oppression)
  • Those who blot out the truth
  • Those who are lackadaisical in the amount of sin and transgression they commit
  • Those who sinned publicly

It was authentically reported that the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) stated:

“Certain people will be driven away from my Hawdh (the Prophet’s Basin in the Hereafter) on the Day of Judgment and I will say: “O my Lord, my Ummah my Ummah (another version reads: and I will say: My Companions, my Companions). It will be said (to me): “You do not know what they did after you (died). They continued deviating from the right path since you left them.”

[Related by Al-Bukhaari, Book on Prophets, Chpater on Allaah’s Saying: “And Allaah did take Ibraheem as a Khaleel”, no. 3349]

This is merely a brief summary of the immense benefits contained in this highly informative lecture. All are encouraged to listen to it in order to become acquainted with the belief of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ahconcerning this significant affair.

We ask Allaah to make us from those who drink from the hawdh of the Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and we seek refuge in Him from being prevented from doing so on that severe day.

Hijrah and Jihad – Shaykh Usaamah al-Utaybee [Audio|Ar-En]

Chapter of Ikhlaas:  Hijrah and Jihad
Shaykh Usaamah al-Utaybee (hafidhahullaah)
[Audio|Arabic-English]

Explanation of Hadeeth : Riyaadh us Saaliheen of Imaam an-Nawawi

Listen / Download Mp3 Here (Time 1:29:51)

A`ishah  (May Allah be pleased with her) narrated that the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said,

“There is no emigration after the conquest (of Makkah) but only Jihad [(striving and fighting in the cause of Allah) will continue] and good intention.* So if you are summoned to fight, go forth.”

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

(*) Intention according to An-Nawawi: It means that goodness which ceased to continue by the cessation of emigration can still be obtained by Jihad and by intending accomplishing good deeds.

Commentary: When a country or a region is regarded as Dar-ul-Islam (land of Islam), it is not necessary to migrate from it to some other place. It is, however, obligatory to emigrate from such regions which are Dar-ul-Kufr (land of infidels) and where it is difficult to adhere to Islamic injunctions. It is also evident from this Hadith that when it is not necessary to migrate from one Islamic country to another then it is also not permitted by the Shari`ah to leave an Islamic country to settle permanently in Dar-ul-Kufr only for the reason that the latter has plenty of wealth and social welfare. Unfortunately, Muslims today are afflicted with this disease. The transfer of their capital and talent to Dar-ul-Kufr is indeed very disturbing because on one side these two factors are lending support to the economy of  Bilad-ul-Kufr (countries of infidels) and on the other, obscenity and indecency that are common in such countries, are becoming increasingly common among the Muslims too.

Another highly important reason for the prohibition of migration of Muslims to Dar-ul-Kufr is that it goes against the spirit as well as their readiness for Jihad fi sabilillah (striving and fighting in the way of Allah). This spirit and readiness must be kept always alive so that the Muslims may respond at once to the call of Jihad whenever the need for it arises anywhere.

The Blessing of Allaah Between Thankfulness and Ungratefulness – Shaykh Khalid ‘Uthmaan al-Misree [Audio|Ar-En]

The Blessing of Allaah Between Thankfulness and Ungratefulness by Shaykh Khalid 'Uthmaan al-Misree

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

Muwahhideen Publications organized a LIVE tele-lecture on Sunday 6th January, 2013 with the Noble Shaykh, Abu ‘Abdul’Alaa Khalid ‘Uthmaan al-Misree (May Allaah Preserve Him) from the well-known mashaayikh of Egypt. The Shaykh addressed us with some beautiful admonition regarding the necessity of being grateful to Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala).

This session was translated LIVE into English.

Listen / Download Mp3 Here  (Time 57:34)

Commencing the lecture, Shaykh Khalid ‘Uthmaan al-Misree (hafidhahullaah) first established two important principles related to the blessings of Allaah upon His servants:

  1. It is necessary for every Muslim to believe without any doubt that every blessing whether in one’s deen or dunyaa is from Allaah.
  2. Regardless of how much strength or knowledge the slave is given, he would never be able to enumerate the blessings of Allaah

Upon understanding these two issues, we will realise that showing gratitude to Allaah is from the most tremendous of the acts of worship.

Our Shaykh then went on to define the meaning of gratitude as stated by some of the scholars of the past and further delved into variations of the word in the Arabic language and the meaning that they carry.

He proceeded to explain, as stated by Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullaah), that gratitude is an act of worship that is only fulfilled when three components are present:

  1. Recognizing the blessings of Allaah in the heart and loving Allaah for His bestowments
  2. Praising and exalting Allaah with the tongue
  3. Seeking the aid of using these blessings in order to perform that which Allaah is pleased with and to refrain from the things that would earn His displeasure

Shaykh Khalid further explained that from the greatest of things that bring a slave closer to his Lord and is from the most certain of reasons for a blessing to be preserved and increased, is the application of the aforementioned components of gratitude. Moreover, since Allaah is Ash-Shakoor (the One Who is Most Grateful), the most beloved of His slaves to Him are those who embody this noble characteristic. Conversely, those who are most abhorred by Him are those who manifest ingratitude.

Next, he delivered some benefits regarding the Name of AllaahAsh-Shakoor, discussed what it means as well as provided us with some examples of the Gratitude of Allaah.

Our Shaykh Abu ‘Abdul ‘Alaa (hafidhahullaah) presented an abundance of proof from the Book of Allaah in explaining the topic at hand as well as provided the statements of our scholars particularly quoting from the works of Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullaah) for this much needed reminder.

We implore our brothers and sisters to listen to this lecture in its entirely in order to seek admonition from the tremendous benefits contained therein.

A Glimpse Into The Creed of The Twelver Shi’a – Shaykh Muhammad ibn Rabee’ al-Madkhalee [Audio|Ar-En]

A Glimpse Into The Creed of The Twelver Shi' a

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

Muwahhideen Publications organized a LIVE Tele-Lecture with the Noble Shaykh Muhammad ibn Rabee’ ibn Hadi’ al-Madkhalee (May Allaah Preserve Him), son of Ash-Shaykh al-Allaamah Rabee’ ibn Hadi al-Madkhalee (May Allaah Preserve Him) and a professor of ‘Aqeedah in TheIslaamic University of Madeenah.

This session was translated LIVE into English.

Part 01 : Listen / Download Mp3 Here (Time 1:11:11)

Part 02 : Listen / Download Mp3 Here (Time 1:28:15)

Our Noble Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Rabee’ (hafidhahullaah) began by saying that truly the shi’a have been a tribulation and test from Allaah upon the Ummah; it has been a calamity that befell this Ummah and surely this is the way of Allaah, that He tests His slaves. For  this dunya is a life of fitan, assessing the mettle of the servants of Allaah; it is an abode where good and evil mingle, contrary to the aakhirah which is the life of exclusive truth where evil does not mix with the good.

Shaykh Muhammad then went on to describe the history of this deviant group and how they came about. He explained the atmosphere after the murder of ‘Uthmaan (radhiyAllaahu ‘anhu) and the two positions held by the Sahabah concerning how the issue should be dealt with. He explained the role of the hypocrites in this fitnah and then went on to shed some light on the character of ‘Abdullaah Ibn Saba’ and the falsehood and shirkhe injected into the pure Islaamic Creed from within.  From them is his belief that ‘Ali (radhiyAllaahu ‘anhu)  had more right to the khilaafah thanAbu Bakr‘Umar and ‘Uthmaan (radiyAllaahu ‘anhum). He then went a step further and declared ‘Ali (radhiyAllaahu ‘anhu) to be the embodiment of Allaah and exalted be Allaah above the falsehood that he claime d.

Our Shaykh proceeded to explain that there is a group of shi’a who believed that ‘Ali (radhiyAllaahu ‘anhu) was the best of the companions. However, they did not see the first three khulafaa as evil men but believed in their virtue, loved them for the sake of Allaah and even prayed for them. This group is the smallest and for the most part no longer existent.

Now, the matter has changed and they base allegiance and enmity on a person’s stance on Abu Bakr‘Umar and ‘Uthmaan (radhiyAlllahu ‘anhum); they make it obligatory to hate them and render them enemies of Allaah and if one refuses to do such they claim that this individual is misguided or might even make takfir on him.

The Shaykh then went on to say that the shi’a fall into two groups – the twelvers and the zaydiyyah and between these two are vast differences in understanding and creed. The twelvers epitomize misguidance of the greatest magnitude; their beliefs are deeply rooted in shirk and even the affair of racism has entered upon them as they believe in the virtue of the Persian lineage.

Shaykh Muhammad (hafidhahullaah) continued by enlightening us about the linguistic meanings for the terms ‘shi’a’ and ‘raafidhah’ and explained the story behind them being referred to as the raafidhah.

He then proceeded to touch on their beliefs regarding the twelve Imaams whom they deify and deem to be infallible. Here the Shaykh listed the twelve Imaams and then explained that as for the twelfth Imaam, whom they claim has been alive for over 1200 years has never existed historically as his father, Hasan, never bore any children!

Our Shaykh further delved into some of their atrocious beliefs such as the deifying of Ahlul Bayt and their calling upon them in times of ease and hardship as well as their disgusting notion that the Qur’aan has been tampered with, is missing two thirds and the complete Qur’aan which they refer to as the version of Faatimah will only come in the time of the Mahdi. The consensus of the people of Islaam is that this is clear kufr.

Shaykh Muhammad (hafidhahullaah) concluded this sitting by saying that the danger and enmity of the shi’a is more severe than that of the jews and christians as acquisition of our wealth and land will please them (the jews and christians) but these shi’a have great resolve to spread their creed and would settle for nothing less than to drink our blood and ensure that no one from Ahlus Sunnah remains on the face of the earth. They sleep and awake upon their devilish schemes and plots.

This lecture is a must listen for the seeker of truth who wishes to acquaint himself/herself with the falsehood of the shi’a so that he/she may be wary of them as they seek to spread their repugnant beliefs.

The Truth is Not Known by Way of Men, Men are Known by Way of The Truth by Shaykh Haamid Khamees al-Junaybi

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

Muwahhideen Publications organized a LIVE tele-lecture on Saturday 16th June, 2012 with Shaykh Haamid ibn Khamees al-Junaybi (May Allaah Preserve Him), one of the mashayikh from Abu Dhaby, U.A.E. The Shaykhstudied with Shaykhanna al-Walid ‘Ubaydullaah al-Jaabiree (May Allaah preserve him). He also studied with many of the prominent scholars of our time, like Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalee, Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee andShaykh Muhammad al-Aqeel, whom he has written tazkiyyah from. The tele-lecture is entitled “The Truth is Not Known by Way of Men but Men are Known by Way of The Truth”. The Shaykh had a follow up to the first part on Sunday 24th June, 2012.

Part 01: Listen / Download Mp3  Here (Time 1:19:20)

Part 02: Listen / Download Mp3  Here (Time 2:03:12 )

The Shaykh started off by saying that the shayateen from mankind and jinn have misguided many of the slaves of Allaah by three mighty deviations that are nothing but lies upon Allaah.

  1. Taking people away from the texts i.e The Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to the opinions, desires and allegiances.
  2. Glorifying ignorance amongst the people so much so that it became an objective that the majority of the people be upon that mannerism of ignorance.
  3. Glorifying or thinking of some scholars as being holy and infallible.

As a result, it is necessary to clarify the straight path of Allaah and thus the Shaykh outlined some principles needed by the student of knowledge that he/she can use as a light on the path towards his/her Lord.

These principles include:-

  1. Allaah has clarified to the people the path of truth and the way to know the truth.
  2. It is a must to bring the Book of Allaah and Sunnah of Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) above and beyond the intellect and analogy of the people.
  3. It a must to understand the book and the Sunnah upon the understanding of the salaf-us-saalih.
  4. It is a must to know that the truth is being upon the understanding of the salaf-us-saalih or anybody upon that understanding i.e the scholars of this deen that have followed the first generations in ihsaan(perfection).
  5. We must believe that the truth is always present in every time and every generation and it is not possible that you would have a time, generation or century in which there is no person guiding the people to the truth.
  6. It is a must to know that even though the scholars are those who are guiding the people to the truth, it doesn’t mean that they are infallible and cannot or may not go against the truth even in one single matter.
  7. Whoever tries to seek the proof from the book and the Sunnah, he should never ever leave it for the statement of anybody else regardless of who that person may be but rather he must follow the book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
  8. The truth is independent of any man but the truth cannot be known except through the men who transmit it.
  9. If the proof contradicts the statements of men, it is waajib upon us to bring forward the proof ahead of the statements of men.
  10. Whoever is ignorant of the proofs of the Quraan and Sunnah and understanding of the salaf-us-saalihmust go back to the rulings of the scholars.
  11. Nobody after the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) can be obeyed in everything he commands and forbids.
  12. It is not permissible to say that every mujtahid (one who has the tools and strives to derive rulings from the Quraan and Sunnah) is correct. The truth is only one and cannot be more than one.
  13. The people of the Sunnah will suspect/accuse the opinions of people but will never accuse/suspect the religion of Allaah.
  14. It is not permissible for anybody to delve into ijtihaad during times of calamity except if he is well qualified and has the capacity to be upon ijtihaad.
  15. It is not correct to use as a proof against those who are calling to the Book and the Sunnah with the understanding of the salaf-us-saalih that the four imaams of the four madhahib have more precedence to be followed than the pious predecessors of this Ummah.
  16. The people of the Sunnah will refute and correct whoever goes against the proofs of the Book and theSunnah even if the one who went against the proofs is a Shaykh of the Sunnah.
  17. IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE: It is a must to warn against the people of innovation and desires, to warn against their statements, and this is the way of the companions of Muhammad (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and those who followed them from the Taabi’oon and those who follow them in ihsaan till the Day of Judgment.

The Shaykh brought an abundance of proofs from the Quraan and Sunnah as well as the statements of our pious predecessors in explaining the aforementioned points.

A must listen for those who wish to acquaint themselves with the truth!

We ask Allaah to make us align ourselves to the truth and the people of truth and rid us of the sickness of blind following anyone, and to make us avid followers of Muhammad (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

This monumental admonition by Shaykh Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdullaah al-Baamusa (hafidhahullaah) was replete with abundant narrations of the Salaf regarding the issue of companionship and the effects of keeping the company of the pious as well as the harms of sitting with the transgressors.

The Noble Shaykh initiated this highly beneficial and heartfelt advice by saying that befriending the pious is from the signs of piety and is part of the religion of Islaam. It is also necessitated by the covenant that Allaah has taken upon the believers to be allies to one another; based on this we say that before it is an issue of methodology or behaviour and mannerisms, this topic is one that is related to ‘Aqeedah because it is related to al-Walaa’ wal-Baraa’ – where your allegiance lies and whom it is you take as an enemy.

The Shaykh then proceeded to mention the various ayaat and ahadeeth related to the issue of companionship.

He continued by stating, And remember my brother as you search for companions that Allaah (Jalla wa ‘Ala)has mentioned the conditions that must be found and met by those whom you take as companions in (the following ayah from) Soorah Al-Kahf.

“And keep yourself (O Muhammad sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) patiently with those who call on their Lord (i.e. your companions who remember their Lord with glorification, praising in prayers, etc., and other righteous deeds, etc.) morning and afternoon, seeking His Face, and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and glitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, one who follows his own lusts and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.” [Soorah Al-Kahf :28]

The conditions are:

  1.  At-Tawheed
  2. He is seen worshipping Allaah in all different times of the day; always hastening to accumulate good deeds
  3. Sincerity
  4. He is not seeking the dunya; the dunya is not his biggest concern.
  5. He should not be from the negligent – those who neglect abundantly remembering their Lord.
  6. He should not be from those who follow their desires.
  7. He should not be from those who have difficulty handling and controlling their affairs.

From the matters one must look into when choosing a companion:

  1. How does he behave when his desires are before him?
  2. How is he at the time of anger when something incenses him?
  3. How is he at the time when the thing he lusts for is in front of him?

The issue of choosing companionship can be of three types:

  1. The one who keeps the company of the transgressors.
  2. The who keeps the company of the pious as well as the transgressors.
  3. The one who keeps the company of the believers and the pious exclusively; and this is the one who will be saved by the permission of Allaah.

The harms of keeping the company of other than the pious:

  1. You may be affected with doubts regarding your sound creed.
  2. They will call and entice you to fall into the same types of sins and transgressions that they fall into.
  3. They will link you by common acquaintances to other people of evil.

In a time where finding pious companions is rare, everyone who seeks good companionship should listen to and adhere to the advice of Shaykh Muhammad (hafidhahullaah) as he beautifully explains exactly what we should look for in a companion and what we must steer clear of in order to avoid the transgressors.

We ask Allaah to grant us good campanions that encourage us upon goodness and prevent us from evil.

Points of Contemplation from The Book of Allaah - Shaykh 'Ali at-Tuwayjari

Bismillaah wa -Alhamdulillaah wa Salaatu wa Salaam ‘alaa Rasulillaah ‘amma ba’d

On Sunday 10th June, 2012, The Noble Shaykh Dr. ‘Ali at-Tuwayjari (May Allaah Preserve Him), professor of tafseer at the university of Madinah, K.S.A., and from the well known scholars of Saudi Arabia delivered a LIVE Tele-Lecture with Muwahhideen Publications highlighting some points to reflect upon in the noble book of Allaah.

The Shaykh organized this beautiful reminder according to 3 noble merits of the Qur’aan:

  • The virtue of its recitation. Here, he appealed to the Muslimoon to sectionize the Qur’aan into portions and allot a fraction of each day to the recitation of these portions, bit by bit, so much so, as taught in the hadeeth of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr, that one should not allow 40 days to pass without reciting and reflecting on the entire book.
  • The virtue of it as a cure. Here, the Shaykh discussed the healing benefits of the Qur’aan for those experiencing illness, pain, fear and even whisperings of the shaytaan. He emphasized the blessings of Suraat-ul-Baqarah and enlisted 3 ways from the Sunnah, whereby one can perform this ruqayyah.
  • The Virtue of Teaching it. Here, the Shaykh encouraged the muslimoon to learn the Qur’aan and to teach it, showing the loftiness of such an act.

This is merely a summary of the points of contemplation mentioned by our Shaykh Dr. ‘Ali ibn Razi at-Tuwayjari (hafidhahullaah) in this highly beneficial reminder.

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:

Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Nations were displayed before me; one or two prophets would pass by along with a few followers. A prophet would pass by accompanied by nobody. Then a big crowd of people passed in front of me and I asked, Who are they Are they my followers?” It was said, ‘No. It is Moses and his followers It was said to me, ‘Look at the horizon.” Behold! There was a multitude of people filling the horizon. Then it was said to me, ‘Look there and there about the stretching sky! Behold! There was a multitude filling the horizon,’ It was said to me, ‘This is your nation out of whom seventy thousand shall enter Paradise without reckoning.’ “Then the Prophet entered his house without telling his companions who they (the 70,000) were. So the people started talking about the issue and said, “It is we who have believed in Allah and followed His Apostle; therefore those people are either ourselves or our children who are born m the Islamic era, for we were born in the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance.” When the Prophet heard of that, he came out and said.

“Those people are those who do not treat themselves with Ruqya, nor do they believe in bad or good omen (from birds etc.) nor do they get themselves branded (Cauterized). but they put their trust (only) in their Lord “

On that ‘Ukasha bin Muhsin said. “Am I one of them, O Allah’s Apostle?’ The Prophet said, “Yes.” Then another person got up and said, “Am I one of them?” The Prophet said, ‘Ukasha has anticipated you.”
