A individual should sit at the hands of the scholars who have firm understanding of the religion, this is how he will learn from Quran and Sunnah. He should take knowledge from them and be patient with the knowledge he gets from them. It is incumbent on a individual that he has a reference that he refers too; he should refer to the scholars.

These prayer are highly recommended, so much so that some of the scholars would not take the testimony of a person who does not pray them.
