“And of his signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and he placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.” (Ar-Room: 21)

“And Allaah has made for you from your homes a place of rest…” (An-Nahl: 80)

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: “He who remembers his Lord and he who does not remember his Lord are like the living and the dead.” – Al-Bukhari, cf., Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 11/208; Muslim 1/539 with the wording “The house in which Allah is remembered and the house in which Allah is not remembered is like the living and the dead.”

“Do not make your houses like graveyards; Satan runs away from houses in which the chapter of Al-Baqarah is recited.” (Muslim)

Zaid bin Thabit (May Allah be pleased with him)reported: The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “O people! perform your (voluntary) Salat (prayers) in your homes because the best Salat of a man is the one he performs at home, except the obligatory Salat.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Ibn `Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, “Observe part of the [Nawafil (voluntary)] Salat (prayers) in your homes. Do not turn your homes into graves.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

“May Allaah have mercy upon the man who wakes up to pray during the night and wakes his wife to pray, and if she does not wake up he splashes water on her face. May Allaah have mercy upon the woman who wakes up to pray during the night and wakes her husband to pray, and if he does not wake up she splashes water on his face.” (Ahmad, Abu Daawood, Nasaa’i & Ibn Maajah).

“All of you are guardians and all of you will be questioned (by Allaah) about your responsibilities …A woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and she will be questioned By Allaah) about her responsibilities (i.e., about her children, property, duties etc.)…” (Bukhaari & Muslim).

(Inspirational) Oh Sisters Be Not Soft in Speech, Stay in Your Houses, Do Not Display Yourselves – By Shaykh Hasan al-Banna – Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee [Audio|En]

Translation of Shaykh Hasan ibn Abdul Wahhab Marzooq al-Banna
Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee
[Audio|English]

Inspirational Lecture !! Don’t Miss to Listen to it

O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allâh), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner.

And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance, and perform As-Salât (IqamâtasSalât), and give Zakât and obey Allâh and His Messenger. Allâh wishes only to remove ArRijs (evil deeds and sins, etc.) from you, O members of the family (of the Prophet Peace be upon him), and to purify you with a thorough purification.

And remember (O you the members of the Prophet’s family, the Graces of your Lord), that which is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allâh and AlHikmah (i.e. Prophet’s Sunnah legal ways, etc. so give your thanks to Allâh and glorify His Praises for this Qur’an and the Sunnah). Verily, Allâh is Ever Most Courteous, WellAcquainted with all things. (Al-Ahzab 33:32-34)

Verily, the Muslims (those who submit to Allâh in Islâm) men and women, the believers men and women (who believe in Islâmic Monotheism), the men and the women who are obedient (to Allâh), the men and women who are truthful (in their speech and deeds), the men and the women who are patient (in performing all the duties which Allâh has ordered and in abstaining from all that Allâh has forbidden), the men and the women who are humble (before their Lord Allâh), the men and the women who give Sadaqât (i.e. Zakât, and alms, etc.), the men and the women who observe Saum (fast) (the obligatory fasting during the month of Ramadân, and the optional Nawâfil fasting), the men and the women who guard their chastity (from illegal sexual acts) and the men and the women who remember Allâh much with their hearts and tongues (while sitting, standing, lying, etc. for more than 300 times extra over the remembrance of Allâh during the five compulsory congregational prayers) or praying extra additional Nawâfil prayers of night in the last part of night, etc.) Allâh has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). (Al-Ahzab 33:35)

Advice to the Parents on Raising Children – Sheikh Mis’ad al-Husaynee [Audio|Ar-En]

Telelink – Sheikh Mis’ad al-Husaynee – Advice to the Parents on Raising Children

This telelink lecture was givenon Saturday, April 7, 2012 by our Noble Sheikh Mis’ad al-Husaynee, Professor of Tafseer (Quranic Exegesis) and Quranic Sciences in The Islaamic University of Madinah, K.S.A

Translated into English By Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee

At what age do we begin teaching our children?

How do we give them the proper Islamic education?

Here is a brief summary of 5 important points the sheikh also brought.

1. Give priority their Islamic education, in accordance with what the Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, taught.

2. Set the right example in statements & action.

3. Keep them away from that which will have an evil affect on them. Know that TV & media are more dangerous than a person in destroying the uprightness of our children!

4. Strive to find good substitutions for that which we prevent them (from harmful things). Keep them busy with good, or they may keep busy with falsehood!

5. Make sure the manhaj of Ahlus-Sunnah is made clear to them and warn them from deviant methodologies and leave no room for confusion.

Explanation of the Creed (Sharhus-Sunnah) by Imaam Abu Muhammad al-Hasan al-Barbahaaree from the book of our noble Sheikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan, hafidhahullah, entitled: إتحاف القاري بالتعليقات على شرح السنة

In today’s talk we begin with point 5 (in the english translation, though it is still 4 in the arabic).

Adhering to the Understanding of the Companions

May Allaah have mercy upon you. Know that the Religion is what came from Allaah, the Blessed and Most High. It is not something left to the intellect and opinions of men. Knowledge it is what comes from Allaah and His Messenger, so do not follow anything based upon your desires and so deviate away from the Religion and leave Islaam. There will be no excuse for you since Allaah’s Messenger explained the Sunnah to his Ummah and made it clear to his Companions and they are the Jamaa’ah, and they are the Main Body (as-Sawaad ul-A’dham), and the Main Body is the truth and its followers. So he who contradicts the Companions of Allaah’s Messenger sallallahu alaihiwasallam in any of the affairs of the Religion, then he has fallen into disbelief.

Allah, the Exalted, says:

“And in some parts of the night (also) perform the Salat (prayer) with it (i.e., recite the Qur’an in the prayer) as an additional prayer (Tahajjud optional prayer – Nawafil) for you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)). It may be that your Rubb will raise you to Maqam Mahmud (a station of praise and glory, i.e., the honour of intercession on the Day of Resurrection).” (17:79)

“Their sides forsake their beds…” (32:16)

“They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Rubb (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope].’‘ (51:17)

`Abdullah bin `Amr (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The Salat which is dearest to Allah is that of (Prophet) Dawud; and As-Saum (the fasting) which is dearest to Allah is that of (Prophet) Dawud. He used to sleep half the night, get up to perform Salat for one-third of it, then sleep through the remaining one-sixth of it; and he used to observe Saum on alternative days.”

Surah Al ‘Asr :

By Al-’Asr (the time). Verily, man is in loss, Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth [i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma’rûf) which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allâh has forbidden], and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allâh’s Cause during preaching His religion of Islâmic Monotheism or Jihâd).

Allaah’s Messenger (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“If one of you has doubt in his prayer and he doesn’t know how many (rak’aat) he has prayed – either three or four – then he should cast away the doubt and base it on what he is certain of. Then he should make two prostrations before making the Salaam. So if he prayed five (rak’aat), his prayer will intercede for him. And if he prayed his prayer completely, then in both cases it will serve as a spite against the Devil.”

This lecture was given on Sunday May 20, 2012.  This is part 3 in our lecture mini-series covering the book مكارم الأخلاق (Upright Moral Character) by our noble Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen.

Many people believe that good manners are just in dealing with other people – being nice to others.  This is a deficient understanding.  Rather a person must have good manners with his Creator first!

So know that good character has two forms; Good manners with one’s Creator and good manners with the creation.

The focus of today will be on having good manners with the Creator.

So what 3 things are from good manners with our Creator?

Listen and find out…
